Mission Statement:
The Physics Student Committee is a group run by students that aims to promote a diverse, inclusive, and healthy learning environment from the other side of the classroom. We strive for all students to feel welcome and supported and effectively engage with all aspects of physics education (including coursework, CA sessions, research, etc.).
Everyone belongs in the department. The physics department does not condone any form of discrimination, including racism, sexism, or ableism, and the Physics Student Committee is here to support any student who feels marginalized. We believe everyone has a place in the physics department, no matter your background, the extent of your engagement with physics, or how you plan to use your physics education beyond Wesleyan.
We are here to support you in your academic journey through physics at Wesleyan, regardless of where you happen to be. The physics committee acts as a body between the students and professors. We meet every semester with professors to discuss ways to improve the department, and we rely on your feedback to propose changes.
If you have any feedback for the committee on physics, please feel free to let us know: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1OO16RIiAtDdx8YdK6KwBhTDHG8Vgt0qpbe6SQtkvcVY/edit
